Everyone is asked to bring their favorite appetizer, dessert, or snack to share.

Classes to be offered:
8x10 Redlands Temple Gold Leafed Picture - $6.00
Bring your own mat and frame THAT NIGHT.
(The picture shown is an 11x14 but we will be making 8x10 pictures)
Taught by Sister Mary Curl

In this class you will be gold leafing a picture of the Redlands Temple.  You will be bonding the picture to your mat and frame.  The mat and frame must be there that night to do this project.

 Set of 2 Fabric Pumpkins - $4.00
Taught by Sister Tasha Donovan

In this class you will make two fabric pumpkins in descending size.  The fabric will be pre-sewn into a tube and you will gather top and bottom, stuff, sew ridges into pumpkins, and add a stem and raffia for decoration.

 Happy Birthday Banner - $4.00
Taught by Sister Tasha Donovan

In this class you will be making a birthday banner that is about 3 1/2 yards long.  The triangle banners will be pre-cut for you.  You will be cutting out the "Happy Birthday" letters, ironing them onto the banners, and sewing the binding on across.  If you have scissors please bring them with you.

 Wooden Nativity - $4.00
Taught by Sister Kristen Andersen

In this class you will be making this wooden nativity.  The paint colors shown are what will be provided.  If you would like different paint colors you will need to bring those yourself.  You will be painting, sanding, and gluing all the pieces together that night.

Holiday Baking Class (Homemade Toffee and Truffles)- Free
Taught by Sister Kristen Smith

In this class you will be learning to make homemade toffee and chocolate truffles.  This is a free class, but we would still love for you to sign up for it so we know who would like to attend it.

We will also have a table set up that night that you can bring your own projects to work on if you would rather.

There is a class schedule for each of these classes.  We have done this so the teachers of the classes can also participate in other classes.  You are not required to do your project at these times, the tables will be set up all night, but the teacher will only be there at that time.  During the other times you will have to follow the printed instructions that will be given in each kit.

Class Schedule:
6:30 - 8:00pm - 8x10 Temple Picture and Birthday Banner
8:00 - 8:30pm - Holiday Baking Class (it may go a little over)
8:30 - 10:30pm - Set of 2 Fabric Pumpkins and Wooden Nativity

All money is due to Sister Donovan by September 29th.  (You can also hand it into any Relief Society Presidency member.)  Order Forms are available on the display table outside the Chapel each Sunday through September 29th.  Cash is preferred.  If not you can make a check out to Tasha Donovan.

If you have any questions please email Tasha Donovan at raegirl25@yahoo.com

Calling all Primary Children

2nd Annual Rialto Stake Pioneer Day Parade
Calling all Colton Ward Primary children! This year the stake is once again hosting a Pioneer day celebration with a parade. We will be dressing up and building our own float. We, our Primary Presidency, are asking you, the Primary children, to help us come up with a theme and/or design of the float. You have one week to submit a theme and/or float design. (They need to be submitted by Sunday, July 5th) From the submitted ideas we will be choosing the theme and float design. Get creative and have fun. Even if yours is not chosen all the ideas will be posted up in the Primary room for all to see the fun ideas you have! The pioneer parade and celebration will be held on July 18th, so mark your calendars. We want you all to be there!

{prop 8}

Just a reminder... Saturday is day one for our participation in the Prop 8 campaign. We are meeting in the parking lot of Terrace Hills Middle School at 9:00am for instructions and assignments. Tonight I received badges and pamphlets for the cause. Please respond to this e-mail to let me know if you will attend or not. Please invite others to help. It would be helpful to bring a clipboard to use if you have one/some. Here is a sample script to become familiar with... Identification Script Hello, I’m _________ and we’re (walking)(phoning) precincts today for the the Yes on Proposition 8 campaign. Have you heard of Proposition 8? [If no, explain the following points]: Proposition 8 is an amendment to the state constitution that says, "Only marriage between a man and a woman is valid or recognized in California." It is the same wording as in Proposition 22 in 2000 that was passed by 61% of the people. It was overturned by a 4-3 vote of the California Supreme Court and that’s why it’s on the ballot as a constitutional amendment. A Yes vote re-establishes traditional marriage as the law. A No vote allows the legalization of same-sex marriage. What’s At Stake? "Now it is not common that the voice of the people desireth anything contrary to that which is right, but it is common for the lesser part of the people to desire that which is not right; therefore this shall ye observe and make it your law –to do your business by the voice of the people. "And if the time comes that the voice of the people doth choose iniquity, then is the time that the judgments of God will come upon you; yea, then is the time he will visit you with great destruction even as he has hitherto visited this land." --Mosiah 29:26-27 Thank you so much for your sacrifice in this very important issue! kathy bowler
